Last spring, my daughter spent hours at our kitchen table with her friends, decorating graduation caps in rhinestones, rivets, feathers and other fun materials.  Each of them wanted to walk across that stage looking like themselves and representing what was to come. When she finished, the first thing she did was show it off to her friends and then online. The making was joyful; the being seen was the whole point.

That's the thing about milestones. You don't just want to attend them as a spectator. You want to arrive as yourself with your story, your people, your color, on your head and shoulders.
